MEET, TARLETON STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNUS, DARION LEWIS
He traveled 1,400 miles from home because of a job promotion, and Darion Lewis says he doesn't see himself returning to his home state to live or work for many years to come.

As the youngest child in his home, Darion Lewis never really had to be responsible for anything. His siblings secretly did his chores, and everyone from teachers to little league coaches treated him as their own son. You might say young Mr. Lewis was spoiled, but he didn't let that stop him from spreading his wings after college and finding his own path.
Higher education was never a question for Texarkana, Texas native Darion Lewis. When his family moved to Dallas, he was only a toddler, but it became home for him. Attending school in the Dallas Independent School District, Lewis excelled in most subjects, and he maintained a steady diet of athletics and academics to prepare for college. Lewis laughingly admits that math is his favorite subject, even if he didn't always give his best effort in school. He would, however, learn the benefit of his efforts to remain well-rounded.
It took three years of high school for Lewis to decide to switch from law to business as a major. When he did, he realized it should have been a no brainer from the start. His natural charm had already proven to be an asset because he had maintained a steady income throughout high school. Using that charm, he was somehow able to convince his school's administrators (and athletic coaches) that it was a good thing to allow him to sell snack items on campus for the entirety of his high school experience.
By the time "D-Lew" began his freshman year at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, he had already decided he would have at least seven streams of income by the time he retired. As much as he loved football, he was confident he could have what he dreamed, without breaking bones to do it. Lewis knew that the reality was that he would need an education to pursue any career, including one after football. He graduated from Tarleton, armed with eight years of experience in the business world, and a bachelor's degree in business management. So far, it seems like the move from law to business has paid off for this young King on the move!
On a recent visit home, Darion sat down with Queen Things' Elizabeth Thomas to share how he feels about moving so far away from home and finding success. Check out his video below and hear his story, in his own words.
Darion Lewis discusses working for EURPAC and how he envisions giving back to his South Dallas community.
